Any suggestions? I checked to be sure I had updated drivers and Snow Leopard has them already. It took a yr. to take out of box I knew it!

new error message: scanner could not be initialized...any ideas?

Run apples software update and see if that fixes it..

Hi Jerry, I ran the update and then I used Image Capture and that worked...the scanner so YAY but will not work directly from scanner but ok

also I uninstalled the software before i ran the update. Thanks!

I've alway had trouble with HP all in one scanner. Try downloading VueScan, it is free & works for me.

thanks karin. I had luck with the Image Capture which is already on the MAC. I did not know about it but I hunted the forums...I hate HP

I would never buy this thing but it was free so the price was right!
