i've only got a one bedroom apartment's worth of stuff, not sure if that is enough to hire a company

you can hire guys with a truck or van here in the city to move you from one apartment to another, but i'm not sure if they go out of state

get the truck from Ryder and ask about one way rates. Also rent a dolly to load your car on and tow it there too

I'd say with a one-bedroom apartment, it'd be cheaper to just get a UHaul or something.

i was thinking that too... i'd rather not load up the truck myself bc the stairs in this apartment are narrow and have a sharp turn
AdamSherk

it won't be easy getting the bigger stuff down, plus I don't want to have to rope in any friends to help with the heavy lifting
AdamSherk

but renting the truck myself seems like a good idea

Get some friends to help then
Ours do it for free food and drinks

over the years I've traded beer and pizza for moving help a few times, it does work well
AdamSherk

but I'm hoping this can be the first move where I can get some hired help, just make it easier on everyone including me

I own a local moving company and we always get calls from people to load their truck if it's going out of town.

Call a local mover. They'll give you a price to load
