why...they have every right to join the military

we don't ask our straight soilders if they like men or women so why should we care if they are gay?

I of all people have no problems with people being gay and in return doing anything "straight" people do

But I can imagine an openly gay person in the military is more likely to be harrassed

I have lived on a military post and I know how crazy things can get there

That isn't the fault of the gay person, though, is it?

i think, that the gay person joining the military kinna knows what they are up against, and they choose to do it anyway.

I mean, having a rule like that "to protect them" is silly, they make a conscious decision to be there or not.

I think this "dont tell don't ask" BS is just that BS. Maybe now that its out in the open

maybe those that are BULLYING can get busted instead of sweeping it under the rug

I'm so sick of people being treated like they don't exist due to their sexual orientation

they have the same rights us heteros have and should have.
