it comes from the brain drain habit of grinding. It tricks your brain into thinking you're doing something vulnerable when you're not.

unlike web surfing and other things though, since it's a game, you also train yourself to treat it as fun so it's much harder to resist

add to the human interaction provided by MMO's and it makes you feel like you're on a chatroom like Plurk except when you get tired

you train your brain to "go on adventures" so it becomes further rooted to your brain. You're basically justifying yourself to have fun

after previously having fun. The end result is a procrastinative addiction that can only be fed by either the next game or by

experiencing a similar high in real life which due to it's physical attributes negates the non-virtual reality feeling of MMOs.

what Huo said was actually true. i've been into MMOs for more than 5 years; not to mention i play 2 or 3 MMOs at the same time frame
