are German driver's licenses valid 'forever', or at least until a certain age?

i think the licence is valid for lifetime. We have new licences by now, but i keep my old paper one instead of yet another piece of plastic.

Dutch licenses have to be renewed every 10 years.

how much does it cost to renew?

ours was AUD$120 last time I renewed mine for 10 yrs. Another 4 yrs left. Should have a solar cell on top by then.
