I would tend to think the traditional method of teaching math would best suit those headed to college and taking the assessment.

If the goal is a deep understanding of mathematics then the IMP approach is very applicable, it encourages student discourse

But it is different, and parents don't like different. They way they learned was good enough then it is good enough now, or so they think.

as well as exposure to multiple methods of solving problems. If the goal is to prepare for a procedural understanding then other programs
