it tells the story of Ririko, a girl who moved into a new gloomy town

her father was a cop who died and she is convinvced he was murdered here

he left her behind a card with a checkered pattern in it

that card turns to be a "Malice" which is a very strange power

there's a black clocktower where kids with questionable sanity live

and everyone in town avoids th subject of the tower

because strange deaths happen near it

a germophobic stoic boy in her class, shiro, has a malice too. It's a lance that he summons from his body

he saves her once and asks for her to give him her card to destrot it but she refuses because it's a memento of sorts

another weird boy with an eyepatch, kurokichi, has malice to (unrevealed in the scanalations but visible in the raws)

and it's kinda right LMAO
