generally i wouldn't recomend anyone to get AMD even though it out performs intel and sometimes cheaper in cost

if you are a non gamer then yea like you said get a huge lcd or led tv, build a good core CPU and can just/ buy above average GFX card

SSDs will do that faster than anything now
