receiving the notes on her manuscript back from a professional editor at noon.

do a quick rewrite and then immediately send the manuscript to the agent who requested it.

then do something completely MENTAL, and contact the agent who has the old (rather horrible) version and offer the newer version.

This will be a big risk, but as I think she'll likely reject the version she has, it seems a risk worth taking.

learned a vitally important lesson - get the manuscript as polished as humanly possible before querying!

stupid for having had to learn it through firsthand experience, as she'd been given that advice more than once.

had the support of a lot of friend's cleverer than her this week and has taken the manuscript up a couple notches with their help.

adding the editor's hopefully helpful insights should get it to a level that I won't be humiliated to send it off.

They are a little tardy. She said noon. It's 2pm in her time zone.

got some great notes from a friend who is a skilled editor in her own right (though not professional) and I've worked all morning...

much happier with her manuscript now, and if the other editor hasn't sent her notes within the next hour, I'll send it as is.

glad your friend came through for you. The professional ones do seem to be habitually late - or I've been unlucky!

received the editor's notes at last, at they *were* quite helpful. Did another quick revision (in less than an hour!), and sent the revised

version to another agent who wanted the full. All in all, a good day's work.

take a week or so off, tackle the last few remaining issues (that I'm aware of), then begin work on the sequel.
