I haven't read those. My district has 6th in elementary, but CCELA standards bump us into middle school status. I expect an interesting time

yes. If you look at www.layingthefoundation.... and look at their scope and sequence map, 6th grade is where it starts. It is Pre/AP

aligned...You'll see where CCELA got its focus. Where it goes forward. I love the writing and non-fiction emphasis. The HOW of rdg/wrtg.

the more I study, the more intrigued I am. Played a little with the maps - this could get fun/interesting!

you are right. I'm not so sure about what I see at the High School level and Literature. The writing and critical thinking--I love.
