I'm frustrated with the UI as well. It requires so much attention, unlike twitter that is much easier to digest.

the UI could definitely use tweaking/customization. However, it is much easier to follow threads here.

there will not be any desktop client. cuz U won't generate any traffic for the project since U'll start using that client. Traffic = profit!
