Gandhi Quote of The Day: "Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it."
latest #13
Wow... that just makes me want to give up. I've been trained since a child that everything I do should be as significant as possible.
If it isn't significant, than you aren't trying hard enough.
but if you do do it... it will be significant to you.
Perhaps that's the problem; I *know* that what I'm doing is completely insignificant... especially compared to my former classmates.
that comparison isn't a good thing. do what you do and if you feel good about it then it's significant, if not then do it better.
maybe it's the pressure of being significant that you were brought up with.
Well, my father is prominent, successful, and powerful in his field. He pushed and pushed that his sons would be successful and make a
difference in the world, and as the oldest, I have the largest amount of expectation.
I understand that type of pressure. and honestly I'm not sure if it's a good or a bad thing.. I like having no pressure over me...
But sometimes I think if I did have that maybe I'll do more
the quote made my day.. thank you
