We had lots of small, baby spiders floating around our room.
katiebunny
Like around 20-30.
katiebunny
And I'm incredibly arachnophobic so it was like a nightmare ;A;

pazu
sadly, it is now summer, and we do have spiders around now :-(
pazu

pazu

(much Raid and Lemon Pledge was used)
katiebunny
I despidered the house at the beginning of summer, but my family just went camping and I think my dad brought back some spider
katiebunny
egg sacks with him.

set the house on fire
katiebunny

SERIOUSLY sjfkjs
katiebunny
my first thought was like "OKAY, GOTTA MOVE"
katiebunny
which is really irrational
katiebunny
but seriously ugh
pazu
haha I do not blame you ;w;
katiebunny
we're going to fog the house tomorrow, hopefully that should take care of the worst of it
pazu
oh, good
katiebunny
i don't like using chemicals but i...don't see what else we can do when there's a freaking swarm D:
pazu
yeahh
katiebunny
how long is spider season in canada?
pazu
Hmm, that's tough to say. Maybe May/June to September?
pazu
We usually get snow in October, and it's been lasting through the spring lately
katiebunny
they usually start coming out around here in april and last until...hm, maybe november
katiebunny
so yeah, basically. moving to canada. this is good.
pazu
:-D
pazu
we also have pretty much nothing for poisonous ones in non-coastal provinces
katiebunny
I'll get a guard moose that will protect me from the spiders (party)
pazu
so there's nothing that can hurt you, they're just... creepy fuckers
katiebunny
yeah, here they...can, but it's not exactly common
katiebunny
brown recluses are probably the big worry.
katiebunny
black widows too, but that's mostly a in-the-forest kind of thing
pazu
yeah, we have black widows in provinces near the coast ;w;
pazu
not so much around here
katiebunny
I actually seriously am thinking of moving to Canada someday, though the reasoning is more due to the gay rights issue.
katiebunny
Though I'm hoping that will be resolved in the US...relatively soon. Either way I'm going to have to move. :/ Indiana is a really
katiebunny
conservative state.
pazu
Ahh, yeah. Even conservative Alberta here has pretty much given up on trying to stop gay marriage, from what I've seen.
pazu
The main opposition gay people face is within their own families, generally.
katiebunny
Yeah. I actually am lucky enough to have a very accepting family, and they're probably the only reason why I don't want to leave.
katiebunny
But here they're trying to put it into the state constitution that gay marriage is banned, so things aren't going well on that front.
katiebunny
I guess best case scenario is a state nearby legalizes it and I move there? Maybe Illinois or something. (unsure)
pazu
Perhaps (thinking)
pazu
it makes me both amused and depressed to see how much opposition it still gets
pazu
I'm pretty sure society here hasn't collapsed yet because of it
pazu
I mean, unless I missed something
katiebunny
Yeah. :-( I don't understand it, really.
katiebunny
People just have to have an enemy, I guess.
pazu
Yeah... especially in America, I find.
katiebunny
A lot of people in Indiana who are heavily conservative tend to be really combative about it.
katiebunny
Like anti-abortion people and anti-gay rights. They really just won't let it go without condemning everyone first. (thinking)
katiebunny
/hugs on E (cozy)
pazu
lmao I think even in Canada, we get more passionate about American politics than our own
pazu
"Oh, Harper's in charge? I don't like that guy but oh well, it's not like he'll destroy the country."
katiebunny
Haha. XD That's really interesting. I'd imagine it's like watching a train wreck in a lot of instances.
pazu
and then "THE CURRENT US PRESIDENT WILL DESTROY THE WORRRRLD"
katiebunny
Our president is the anti-christ. No big deal. Our last one was too. Clinton was probably accused of it as well. (thinking)
katiebunny
America: EVERYONE IS THE ANTI-CHRIST
pazu
pretty much
katiebunny
do people in canada think it's the end of the world every couple of months too?
pazu
Hmm. I haven't seen anyone getting crazy about it here, but there probably are a few gullible whackos.
I think overall, it's less common and less socially acceptable to be a vocal, restrictive Evangelical or Fundamentalist Christian
in Canada or Europe than in the US.
It's still pretty socially acceptable here for a variety of reasons.
but NOT every religious person is like that by a long shot.
katiebunny
Yeah, I actually come from a pretty religious family and they're all accepting of Evee and I, so I know that it's not every religious
katiebunny
individual.
katiebunny
The main reason it drives me crazy is because there are at least three different protest spots by my home that are settled at almost every
katiebunny
day. They hold up signs of fetuses post-abortion or anti-gay signs or...any other hateful thing you can imagine. (thinking)
pazu
woooow.
pazu
we had like... a one-person protest like that
The last time Westboro was here they declined to show them on the news and instead showed a VFW bake sale that was held
pazu
I almost felt bad for her, it looked kind of sad lmao
in specific opposition to the protest.
katiebunny
Yeah, I was glad they didn't get much press.
pazu
lmao I remember the WBC threatened to come here once and we were all (woot)!??!?!
pazu
but the canceled :-(
pazu
...they not the
katiebunny
fff XD
katiebunny
We just have a few women's health centers nearby here and a lot of people are like "Planned Parenthood? THE DEVIL! /grabs a picket sign"
katiebunny
It's...really gross. (unsure)
pazu
wooow
pazu
I always thought the news just showed rare extreme examples
katiebunny
No, it's pretty much every day at this clinic down the street.
pazu
thaaat's pretty terrible
pazu
especially considering they do a lot of things for sexual health that aren't even related to abortion
katiebunny
Seriously.
pazu
taking care of your body!? THE DEVIL!
katiebunny
When I was about 18 I was going to one to get a yearly done and they stopped by car and begged me not to abort. (doh)
katiebunny
They wouldn't take "I'm not pregnant" for an answer.
pazu

Since then I've started going to a place south of here. (unsure) Because screw that.
