I am helping with stuff here and just got the paperwork dropped off
so far we have got a Christmas dinner for the old folk, a shopping outting for disabled and a party for the kids
not much here. A small fair that's it
this is the people that live in the houses around here that are doing this
do the soup kitchen and stuff with the other groups
the usual -- soup kitchen, toy drive, secret santa for kids
people usually focus on giving a lot around thanksgiving/christmas, but not so much the rest of the year
yea people do more then than any other time but the groups I do stuff with say they get a few that
stick with them on other stuff so it works out well for them
a couple of houses near my parents' place will decorate their garages and lawns and collect money for charity...
almost 5 years ago we moved here, one of the first in this now kinda large group of houses
at the royal wedding a group of folk got together and did a party for the kids
that kinda kicked of the thinking it would be good for us all to do something
at Chrsitmas so everyone gets more friendly and knows each other
folk care more about the place the live when they know the folk that lives around them
so that is why a group of us are trying to get this going
and so far everyone but 1 person is on board
its a wonderful idea, cos lots of people feel lonely at holidays
