window. She closed her eyes and sighed, this was peace.
what sort of deity brought him to a church of all places, but it wasn't like he had anything better to do. He finds it odd how it's so
quiet, but nevertheless, he steps in and starts looking around, impressed by the architecture and art.
glances up and notices another person has entered, she frowns when she sees who it is, he looks familiar but she's sure shes never seen him
before in her life. Concluding that he must be another of those opposite gender versions. She waits patiently for him to notice her.
He's really quite stunned by how everything looks in here, but then again, it's probably his fault he hasn't been to a few churches
recently, what with the current problems. His eyes finally land on a familiar, yet unfamiliar, figure on the bench, and he waves at her,
rolls her eyes at him and turns back around to face the alter, however she can't shake her curiosity and finds herself glancing at him
through a sheen of her dark hair. who is he?
doesn't really like being ignored, and he sighs as he moves closer to her, sitting almost right next to her. He leaves some space in between
in case she doesn't like it, and tries again. "Hey. What're ya' doin' here alone?"
sighs as there seems to be no way to ignore some people. "I could ask you the same thing" she responds turning to him.
"I actually have no idea." He laughs lightly, scratching his head. "I was just gonna take a quick walk around to clear my head, and somehow
I ended up here. How 'bout you?"
"well unlike you some people actually have a reason to be in a church" she stated shortly still ignoring his question.
ponders on that for a moment. He had been religious in the past, he supposed, what with the influence of the Puritans, but nowadays, well,
there really just was no time. "Then what reason do you have to go to church?"
shock her head slightly, this guy just couldn't take a hint. "If you must know I came here to settle my thoughts. I find the church to be
"Is that right?" Well, the peaceful part was certainly true. There was literally no one else in here; one could probably hear a needle drop
or something. "... Is it working?"
"well it was until just a minute ago when a random idiot walked in and started making tons of noise."
"Oh." Well, now he feels kind of bad. And somehow, even more degraded, but he supposes that's a common thing nowadays. "Sorry, I'll be
quiet then." With that, he turns to the front and starts fiddling with his bracelet.
almost laughed at him, in truth she found him adorable, not that she would ever say so. She turned at closed her eyes bowing her head in her
mind she attempted to recite her own prayer. However the man next to her was quite distracting and she found herself unable to clear her
watches her silently; how long had it been since he's prayed? Pretty long, if he could remember. Actually, he doesn't even know how to do
the sign of the cross any more. Well then, that was inconvenient. What was he doing here then? Answer: he didn't know. But she was right; it
peaceful here, and it gave him time to think.
gave up trying to concentrate and turns her attention back to the man sitting next to her. "Do you have a name?" she asked.
if he was too noisy. Maybe his breathing was too loud? Eh, now he felt sort of bad for disturbing her. "Alfred. I'm Alfred Jones. I, uh,"
he scratches the back of his head. "Sorry if I was being a little loud or somethin'. I was tryin' ta' be quiet."
for a moment Alfred Jones It was the last name Jones that sounded familiar. Ignoring that he was obviously uncomfortable she asked,
"are you a nation perhaps?"
would have, at another time, completely freaked out at the sudden accusation of being a nation, but right now, all he could feel was
shock. So instead of saying yes or no, he just asks, "Why would you ask that?"
"just answer the question damnit!" she growled, did there need to be a reason for everything?
"Only if you tell me why. That is quite a random question to be just shouting at anyone." He still refuses to outwardly refuse or deny it.
sighed, " well you look a lot like someone I know..." she trailed off trying to think of the best way to answer. "and... your last name it
sounds really familiar." she paused to watch his expression.
can't help smiling just a little bit as he stares back at her, somewhat amused. "I'll answer that question if you answer it yourself first.
"Of course I'm a nation, idiot." she scoffed. Smirking slightly at him. who did he think she was?
"Oh, well..." He tries to guess which one she could be, but from her loud mouth... and swearing, he could only guess... "South Italy, right?
Then yes, I am a nation." He smiles sadly. "I am the United States of America." And despite it all, despite his mood, he still can't help
almost laughed at him, being so proud of representing the U.S. She found it highly entertaining. "Ahh, that would explain your extreme
frowns at that. He might not be back to "normal", but he still wasn't one to take insults. "I don't know what I did exactly for you to
come up with that conclusion. I've barely said anything."
"well seeing as the America I know is a complete airhead. You as her guy self is bound to even more stupid, and just talking to you for
these few minutes has already proved my theory."
"If you say so," he replies quietly, keeping the anger out of his voice, taking deep breaths to calm himself. Really, there was no sense
in getting worked up; it was South Italy, after all. And in a way, her words are right. He was stupid.
surprised at his attitude, he was being so...depressed it seemed. Since when could America get depressed. "Is something wrong with you?"
she asked matter of factly
"Aside from the fact that you're insulting me?" He adds sarcastically, not looking at her any more. He could still get annoyed, after all.
What was wrong with him? America never acted this way. "Fine" she said and turned the other way to stare at the ornately colored glass.
