actually thrilled with the gift! Surely they weren't on the best terms, but Christmas is all about forgiving and peace, right? And she-
loved the present, it's a perfect mix of quite a lot of her interests! She's even tempted on changing her Christmas tree with this right-
now, and be sure that she will use it next year!
had been worried that the gift may have been a bit too extravagant...but guess he just likes to worry over nothing, since he's quite sure
that she likes the bigger the better as much as her male counterpart.
that you were completely right! The bigger the better, it's like her own motto. Also she feels in debt to you now, as she didn't think-
of any present to give you, but she'll think of something, so expect a present from her in one of these days!
glad that you found the gift to be of your liking~ But really, there is no need for you to feel in debt to him, for he was not expecting
anything in return for his efforts. Though he wonders...what kind of gift would you be thinking of giving him?
the same thing, as she's not sure what she could give you. She wouldn't want to give anything that isn't thoughtful enough. The first idea-
that comes to her mind is a scarf, but her knitting abilities are basically zero, it could also be a collection of old guns or maybe-
something else handmade, that doesn't include knitting, of course. (For a moment, she thinks of giving him a chance to talk to Alfred, make-
make both of them talk to each other, hoping that could fix some of their problems, but she can't promise that, so maybe it's a bad idea).
that if it's already that much trouble thinking of a gift to give him, then you really shouldn't make good of your words and actually get
him anything; after all, it's the thought that counts, da? But really, he will be happy receiving anything, for he can come on one hand
the number of times he's been in the "recipient" position. (For a moment, he too thinks that she would be offering to help bridge the
distance between America and him, and finds himself feeling relief that she doesn't.)
insists that she would like to get you something unique, and not the first thing that came to her mind! It's the less she can do, and-
honestly, even if they met in... pretty bad terms, she doesn't hold a grudge and would like to try to be friends, or acquaintances, if-
it's possible. If a gift could help that, then she'll think of something, you'll see. (She doesn't like seeing you both so sad, she'll-
have you know, so even if she can't do anything about it, she wishes you could fix up your problems).
really feels that it's adequate enough of a gift that you even thought of giving him something...it may not be tangible in any way, but
it makes him happier than any gift could, especially if there is a chance of making a friend. (He does not see where you get the idea that
he's sad from; and though he cannot speak for the other America, he himself is definitely anything but. Whatever problems are between
them have already been solved, can you not see?)
glad that makes you happy then, but even so, you're going to get a gift, just... wait for her to think of something suitable enough. And of-
course there's a chance! She's trying to make friends herself, so why not? (She thinks that maybe it's because you both had been almost-
dead, living for each passing day and nothing more? She hopes that it's true that their problems are solved or at least in their way-
really hopes that you don't go to all the trouble, since he usually doesn't find any use for the presents that he rarely receives, and
doesn't want your one to go to waste. But perhaps it's just his curiousity acting up again, but he wants to ask...how are things between
you and the female him? (That is the only correct way to live, after all: for each and every passing day. But yes, all has been solved,
and everything is...back to normal.)
that it's not a problem though! She likes presents and likes to look for presents too, so if anything, it's something that makes her-
somehow happy. Oh. Well, things aren't that bad, usually they're sarcastic and snarky towards each other. Maybe it was the Holidays, but-
they were nicer to each other lately. Deep inside, she hopes things could be like that most of the time, but... don't tell Anya that.-
(Back to normal could be a good or a bad thing, depending on what is normal for you two.)
...thinks that stubbornness is a similar trait in all America's; as it stands, he will not force you to not give him anything, but has
already clearly stated that a present is both unnecessary and unneeded.
Ah, of course, of course...the opposite of how America and he are
right now, da? Rest assure, he will keep your...secret safe, but he thinks it's prudent to suggest that Anya would very much prefer to be
more, how to say, civil with her...only a passing thought though.
(back to normal is just that; normal. How things were before...it
grins proudly, will take this as a victory for her, because you are going to recieve a present anyawy. And it's not stubbornness, it's-
just being persistent, which it's something good! She agrees with that, that's how things are between Anya and her. It's tiring, if she has-
to be honest, she'd like to be less defensive with her, but if that's even possible, it would take time to fix their relationship. She will-
take your opinion in consideration though, probably try to be nicer to her. (Oh... really? Even after all?)
isn't going to keep wasting his energy trying to deter from your self-given task, especially when he realizes just how useless it is to try
and match you in persistence.
Anya is very much...very much like him; and though he means that as a sort of comfort, he's not sure just
how much of it such a description can offer. Especially when you know her more - and better - than he does. But at least, she will be
willing to play civil...on certain occasions.
(ah, he is much too forgetful these days; he means normal as in before everything
happened. America and he...act no different than what is expected of two countries, you see. That is normal, da?)
