My biggest one is probably having my character as a person brought into question because of the character I play in pretendy fun times.
This is especially true if the character is an OC. Apparently if it's an OC they aren't allowed to be terrible/an asshole/socially flawed-
/[insert trigger warning here] type of person, you know, like real people sometimes are, because it is obviously means that you share-
your character's thoughts/ideals/etc and are that same type of person.
Idk, I get that people can become offended during pretendy fun-times, but the best thing about it is that you have the choice to play-
with the people you want. Don't gotta be bringing up who I am as a person (especially if i don't know you) just because you disagree w/the-
character. This tends to happen often in WoW Rp, ngl. As someone once brought up, 'People only play asshole characters because they really-
are jerks and douchebags and this just gives them an excuse.' Okay. It's not like most of the races in Azeroth hate each other or anything.
Another is feeling like what you're doing won't meet the standards of all those people out in internet land. It's easy as hell to say -
"I DON'T CARE WHAT THOSE BITCHES THIIIIIIINK" but a lot harder to actually follow up on it.
This is probably why I'm generally background actor(ess) #8 in many RP things because I sit and watch and listen/read and -
OVERTHINK EVERYTHING and that kind of makes me sound like a stalker
Also because I'm a slow tagger and juggling more than 3-4 threads at a time makes my head want to asplode.
And this is probably the most personal thing I've ever put on plurk in the year I've been on it because i'm too busy stalking everyone
I get a lot of these too... /hug for all it matters, I love your characters and the rp you do, be it with me or other people ^^b
Also.... You should tag/post/thread more
just saying
Yeah the thing about OCs "not being allowed" to have certain qualities is just stupid
No, playing an asshole doesn't mean you're an asshole at all. Ugh. People need to stop blurring IC and OOC.
Yeah. Some of my favorite OCs have been assholes
(except the one, but they're a very very special case)
Haha, exactly. If you think someone's character is personally attacking you with whatever it is they're saying, you just need to step from -
keyboard for a sec and think about it. Granted, it can happen, but by then it's pretty obvious what's going down.
Yes. It was very, very obvious.
Haha, I know I can't. Maybe you could just send a note.
People who'd check 'no' are usually on anoncomm advertising the fact.
