You can buy another cord easy. They are about 60 bucks though

Well i put this before i learned that it wasnt the cord. The dad thinks there is something wrong with where the cord plugs into in the back

of the comp. So he thinks it got shorted

That shouldn't be too bad to fix then. If you don't have a warranty, I'm sure a shop can fix it for pretty decent
