We are using Mathletics for Years 5-8 at our school. On a steep learning curve in learning to manage classes in that environment.

Actually, the software is simple to manage. Its how students, parents and other teachers respond that will be interesting.
Why was the switch made? What are the benefits to student understanding?
Yes that's it. No switch. We were not using anything comparable.
Student understaning? This is trial year. No results yet. Purpose: skills practice.
Other (woolly) purpose: to have some common ground across Senior Primary and Middle School upon whihc to build colaboration.
Hmm. Is this the only math instruction the students receive? Is it a supplement?
Oh Jackie. God Forbid! it's a supplement! Its happening on the fringes.
*whew* I was a bit worried for a second. Is the supplementing done during class time? At home? Is it required?
We are using it for homework. Required? In my mind (though I'd need a legal opinion) homework can not be "required" in formal sense.
To me: its a fun way to encourage skills practice at home.
Okay. Thanks for the info! I look forward to hearing how it goes this year.
