I was talking with this chick and she mentioned a recipe that her hubby used for chocolate cake. I agreed that it sounded good.
Here's the thing, though. I mentioned that we used Smart Balance instead of Butter, and she just flipped. We prefer the taste of it over
using butter for everything, which for us, is more expensive and not as healthy. She proceeded to knock me down for my choice, not even
realizing she was doing it. I told her the ingredients and her first words (without letting me finish) were, "Soybean oil? Ever heard of
GMO's? And Canola...shakes her head" Here's the thing: Anyone, ANYONE, if you shake your head at someone, do they ever respond well?
I kinda read her the riot act. I used to be a huge natural health nut, not that long ago. So yeah, I know about GMO's, HFCS and Monsanto.
I know a LOT of things about food choices, and I try not to shove that down people's throats because, hello, uncomfortable. She got huffy.
She said, "I'll just never discuss food choices with you again, especially if it's going to start an argument I hadn't counted on."
I kinda LOST it. I told her she sounded rather snobby and, no surprise, she blocked me. Was I wrong there? I don't think I was.
It appears that she went off on the tirade there. Wonder if she realized unless she's getting farm fresh amish type butter, how "healthy "
that butter she picked up really is?
Kinda my thoughts. It raises cholesterol and blood pressure and is harder to detox from the system.
not to mention all crap they pump into modern cows, all the hormones and antibiotics and who knows what else. I mean it's gotta go somewhere
