There are certain communities where it'd probably be dangerous to say you're an atheist, but it's nothing like being LGBT.

If you're an atheist, the most danger you're in is from religious people knocking you over in their enthusiasm to convert you.

the article is pretty America-centric and there's really no institutional atheist oppression here
