they shut down schools and other stuff in gaoxiong and new taibei city if i am understanding the news right
and two people were killed in mudslides in taichung county
THAT IS LIKE ALL THE MAJOR CITIES BTW, spread across the whole country (north, south, central)
I MUST LOAD UP FACEBOOK D8
Oh man. I hope they can get people to safety as quickly as possible.
oh gosh i hope everything's alright
yeah
they seem to be fine so far though
Ack, it's flooding there? I heard about the quake a few days ago.
yeah this is on top of though (though afaik nobody got hurt in the quake and the friend i asked about it said it wasn't really a big deal)
Yeah, I heard it was like a 6. quake. But didn't hear much about it afterwards.
apparently people felt it all across the island but there wasn't any actual damage? it was off the north east coast iirc maybe far enough
that it wasn't super strong on the island
well, how about this flood? How bad is it?
Okay, as long as it's not like... Japan.
yeah no it's not like that
ONLY FOUR PEOPLE DEAD SO FAR though that still fucking sucks
Yeah.. this just happened when?
i found out about it 'cause the taiwanese news feeds i follow on plurk were announcing school closures in taibei and gaoxiong
(which like i said are on opposite sides of the freaking country)
I guess it's cause they're both coastal?
Then again, Taiwan is an island, everything's coastal.
everything is sorta costal but yeah i am guessing one giant ass storm
... :I my twin's in taipei. i'll have to check on him later, but i think the mudslides/evacuation didn't occur in taipei?
afaik the deaths happened in taichung county and uh I FORGET THE OTHER PLACE but some rural area definitely not taibei
also taibei = taipei i write it in pinyin because it messes up my pronunciation otherwise BUT I AM SURE HE IS FINE just like
probably irritated and inconvenienced
YEAH dlskjf ;A; thanks for the notice
