compiling on the pi is not something I hope to do a ton of... can be quite time consuming.

oh, I thought you meant that the compiling was related to getting wifi stable... if you're tweaking things, do please submit patches.

if you're just compiling, then, well... carry on, as infrequently as you can get away with.
