The same rules apply to lace weight as other yarns.

SO, I would suggest a plied yarn for a sweater. I like desert vista dye works.

Or check out loopy ewe.

I would take into account the price point per yard. So like Baruffa Cashwool or Skacel Merino Lace.

That's one of the things I love about our LYS, Yarnivore, is that have a very nice selection of laceweight.

Are you knitting Laika? Cause that's asking for a fingering weight.
