One of the higher ups in our department (the shipping department) asked if I'd like to speak at the "group" meeting involving only the administrators of our building..

I mean, these guys were the big wigs, the ones whose signature is on the check.

I was frightened but curious at the same time, so I gave it a go; I agreed.

I asked around if there were any problems in our area, what sort of things could we suggest, so on and so forth to make our lives a little easier..

.. and came up with a couple of ideas.

.. thanks to everyone in our department.

And well.. holy shit, that was nerve racking, but there was no doubt: everyone at that meeting was exceptionally pleased by my performance.

I was asked a few questions, gave them appropriate answers, every single one of them with large smiles at my responses.

One of them, I was told afterwards by the guy who asked me to come to the meeting, looked to his fellow administrator and said, "This guy is much better than the last few associates."

When they all left, there were many smiles and many handshakes.

And I even complimented our department literally to their faces.

I think I like this job.
