I was going in to the dentist for the first time in 4 years. He was cleaning, and said, "Hey, does this tooth hurt?" I told him that it did. He said 'Yeah, it's because you have an enormous cavity." He
thought it was funny, since I didn't have anything else wrong in my mouth at all (Incidentally, that was the grown up tooth that was blocked by a baby tooth that never came out, and I had pulled when I was 16).
Apparently, the cavity started out small, but grew over the years since I couldn't properly clean the tooth because the other was in the way. Anyway, he said "That needs to be filled right now. I told him
that I had to go to work, but he wouldn't take no for an answer, and it turns out that it was even worse than he thought it was once he started drilling it. I was numbed up REALLY well, since he had to switch
and do the root canal. Then I had to go to work. And be Pocahontas. And sing 4 live shows. With half my face completely numb. I looked like I'd had a stroke, couldn't pronounce any of the words, and kept
in absolute ZERO pain when it was over and done. The worst part for me was being numb for several hours afterward. I don't like that feeling. Once it wore off, I felt perfect.
