if you need any help, let me know. I'd be happy to explain
well mostly I am surprised that the whole thing seems to be wrapping up even though it looks like a lot of threads aren't near completion
it's so the game isn't locked down. the game runs a 1:1 ratio of one rl day to one game day -- if we didnt post the conclusion of things up we'd have the game stalled for a while
And that is unfair to players who did not participate in the log part of the plot. We've learned we need to put these things up ahead of time in the future to avoid having to do this.
There's still plenty to do in the log for those who are participating though, and as one of the mods running the plot I plan on seeing it through to the end so long as there is interest in completing the
sometimes 1:1 ratio games rely on a bit of backtagging to get things done for one reason or another. Schedules and planning between people all over the world is hard to coordinate
my beef is more that it seems that outcomes and such have already been decided and such, not so much the backtagging issue
like no matter what we thread out right now
he outcome is completely predestined
we people playing in the thread have no elbow room to change this ultimate outcome
if backtagging is that much of an issue you could have always said something that whatever day the plot actually ends on
the day the attack happened
with as many people as we were coordiniating in the hwole post
even the individual threads
it will take a while to get things going
We did give a timeline for the plot, and did express that things would need to conclude on friday. Unfortunately, I came down with a case of pneumonia and was unable to guide the plot as efficently as I wanted.
but this is why maybe you should have just thrown the timeline out the window
coordinating so many people within a set time limit is really hard
and I just don't feel things are especially fair to the people playing out the thread plots right now
role playing is a collaberation
each person threading should have a say in what happens as events play out
I understand what you're saying. For future events and future parts of the meta plot we'll try to keep things more open ended.
but this is somethign you could have still done for this plot! Instead of rushing the result you could have made an announcement or something that said the plot's timeline is changed
it probably would not have made that much of a difference to the game at all
We did extend the event by nearly a week, but I see what you are saying.
but, like I said, in the future there will be a larger timetable for plotting and actual huge event logs like this will go up several weeks ahead of when they actually happen, in order to allow for more time
to get things completed. This was the first time a plot that was this complicated was done, and there were mistakes made -- which can and will be improved upon for the next events.
I do apologize for the shortcomings of this plot, it was my lack of planning that lead to it being rather closed ended and understand if you wish to sit out of the rest of it.
I am -very- sorry this has been a disappointment to you, and to any others. I would like to say that next time we'll do better.
