but i went to the theatre sort of expecting the subtlety of the oavs and... wala siya don. the fight scenes were amazing though!
and i saw it with good friends! and i met awesome new people because of it hahaha
me at the movies: "this is so unsubtle for a japanese film. AT BAKET PURO FLASHBACKS." but it was really enjoyable. AND SATO TAKERU PLEASE CONTINUE STARRING IN MANGA/ANIME ADAPTATIONS.
but i conceded naman na it would be difficult to condense a lot of information into one movie, so there. go watch it.
BUT it's another medium, i guess? and everything was there, cinematography is good actually, pero parang may hesitation sa aking heart of hearts para mahalin ng lubusan yung adaptation
AND THE FILM WAS BANKING ON THE VIEWERS' PAST ~ENCOUNTER~ WITH THE SERIES.
idk if i expected it too much, but i sort of wanted to see how it will try to establish several things with "new" viewers. kulang sa emotional setup/dev't para sa ibang characters. lahat ng feelings ng--
-audience naka-center lang kay kenshin. and it would've been interesting if the movie didn't resort to cheap tricks/expository dialogue to make us care for the other characters.
-na napresent ng live-action medium. in terms of the writing of characters, nasayangan ako.
