the scenario played out on screen usually involves the male lead raping the female lead.
and she acts like nothing has happened afterwards, as well as totally forgiving the shithead by the final scene as all of them have happy endings.
which basically sends out the message to the population that rape is OK as long as he loves you, WTF?
Yeah, actually what the fuck.
and there's no ambiguity about rape in these scenes either. The girl clearly says no, and the guy is usually drunk and does it anyway.

most of the comments on the second one make my blood boil, and these scenes happened 11 years apart.
oh, and last link before I hit the wall with rage, here's a link showing at least 28 dramas involving rape.

ugh, that's really bad
it's not ok. Is there a backlash against the actress, actors portraying rape or directors?
if I could find their contact details, I'd do something about it, but my Thai writing skills aren't up to par, and I doubt they'd listen to me anyway.
just finds it extremely concerning that these things that say rape is OK are watched by millions of people of all ages every night.
all for rape being portrayed accurately for the monstrosity it is, but there are absolutely no consequences for the male lead after raping the female lead because HE LOVES HER SO MUCH.
Quick straw poll from my mum and grandma shows that they're not bothered about the MC getting fucking raped as a plot device.
it gives a very wrong idea ....
in the portrayal, can one see any negative consequences on the girl afterwards? Surely in real life she would suffer some loss of confidence or lack of trust in him or inner hurt. That damage should be shown.
the girl acts angry at him for all of one scene, then nothing else is mentioned of it. In the 2012 drama, the guy even goes and tells his friend that he rapes her like he bought her a cup of coffee.
the closest they come to consequences is that the male lead and female lead break up temporarily, but the reasons for that are not the rape, which is usually never mentioned again, but other reasons.
oh yeah, and the 2001 drama I linked brushes off the rape as being OK because they're married and he's drunk. AARGH.
