knittinwolf: I don't think I'm stopping Plurk, but FB especially makes it easier to post photos. I don't like to bombard people with shop Plurks but I figure if you follow me on FB you must want to see it.

purplehayes: DVD needs a Twitter account! I have important tweets (like shop updates) forwarded to my phone as texts so I can be first in line!

I know, I know-but like you the social media involved in communicating about our businesses tend to become a time suck when I am in a procrastinating mood!

Might work for you time wise but also might alienate your customers.

Heartlandknits: That is a good point. I am trying to use my time more wisely so that I can provide faster turnaround times on custom orders, etc. and improve my customer service.

I will still use Plurk, but I'd rather use it to share the goodies I get from others and stay in touch with my knitting friends.

Can you put tracking on your site to see where most people click over to it? Or, maybe you do already. It would give you some stats to back you up if somebody took offence.
