couplet: Sylvain - Alignment: Definitely Good. Very very Good. Goody Two-Shoes, him. Whether he's Lawful or not really depends on the circumstances. He'll do the Good thing before doing the Lawful thing.
On that note: Jaded: He is just the most idealistic thing ever. Seriously, why do you think he made that promise to Ernesto that he'd make sure nobody died?
He'd just jaded enough to know that he can't fix everything, but not jaded enough to not be a little upset about it.
Beverage: Wine. He likes wine. His only preference is "lots". See the above for why he drinks.
Co-habitate: There's only one person Sylvain lives with and that is Emil. Need-to-knows include the fact that he's awake at odd hours and he has a kid that he refuses to ditch.
Decor: Books, books, and more books, with a side order of spotlessness and various historical artifacts (or replicas of historical things.)
Escape: Like I said up there, he drinks.
It works well enough, but it's a temporary solution. He'll be stressed out and upset again the next morning.
Fluff: What gets Sylvain all emotionally gooey? Thinking of Emil when the kid was younger and less horrible.
Grudge: His response to insults boils down to "If you're trying to argue, you're doing it wrong. 8|" Petty insults do not impress him. And as for grudges... Yes, he does hold grudges.
He holds them for a long time. Because history is important.
Hobby: Picking apart various government regimes, then plotting revolutions as thought exercises. No, really.
Insomnia: Sleep is sort of an "I'll get to it when I get to it" thing for him. He puts off sleep the way other people put off chores. After all, he can always sleep tomorrow!
Kin: Sylvain has drifted apart from anyone he might have considered family, be they blood related or otherwise. The only exception is Emil and he'll be covered later.
Law: He is indeed selective about which rules he follows! See: Alignment
.
Magic: He would be very accepting of magic! And experimenting with it would be just so fun and interesting; it'd be like discovering a whole new branch of science, oh goodness
Network: He's... sort of connected to other people? He teaches classes and stuff. But beyond the students the he teaches, he isn't connected to anyone.
And he doesn't do much "reaching out" beyond the standard "my office door is open at these hours, and I can be reached through these methods if you need help" that professors do.
Headcanon states that the bookstore she works at is his favorite, which probably helps.
Okay so. Offspring: Ooooh boy. He's not a perfect dad, much to his dismay. When Emil was younger, he was in the care of babysitters and other child-care services more often than he was in the care of his dad.
But that was just because Sylvain was just so busy! And he's trying really hard to make up for it now! It's... not very effective, alas.
Pistol: (answering this for boardgame-verse only) No skill with conventional weapons, unless a garrote counts. He uses wire as a weapon. A nice spool of copper wire. Bzzzap.
Question: He feels doubt often, mostly regarding Emil.
Reminder: He's pretty good about remembering that yes, he does need to do things light eat and sleep. Whether or not he actually does is another matter entirely.
Sing: He does enjoy music, and he does occasionally hum things. Mostly absent-minded humming.
Touch: He's a hugger. That's all you need to know.
Upcoming: He does think about the future on occasion. Not often. And he think/worries about his kid's future more than he thinks about his own.
Vice: Mostly drinking and putting off sleep. More of the former than the latter.
Wardrobe: Suits. With tweed jackets and pinstripe waistcoats. Yep.
X-Ray: He drinks too much, is constantly stressing out, and doesn't take care of himself as well as he should. Draw your own conclusion.
Yack: HISTORY! Sylvain looooooves talking about history. And he's really enthusiastic about it. Why do you think he became a lecturer in the first place.
Zodiac: Um... Libra. Yes. (...Okay, I came up with that just now.)
lunamaria: Alya - Offspring: Um.... I imagine that she would be very good at keeping the kids alive and healthy and well fed and stuff. But she wouldn't be very good at things like "affection".
Or anything that involves feelings.
Astor - Offspring: ......Never let him near children.
Alya - Vice: Oh, wow, this is a hard one. She doesn't drink, smoke, or do anything that traditionally counts as a vice. Her most obvious bad habits are being emotionless and being blunt...
yeah, Idk, maybe I'll come up with something later.
Astor - vice: Does "being horrible" count as a vice?
Astor - grudge: Insulting Astor just doesn't work. He laughs them all off. He doesn't hold grudges, either, though he does find the idea that some people do very amusing.
