Just to double-check, are mythological-like creatures okay for this?
\o/
what if it's one of the little baby reapers
im kidding but lel its an amusing thought
heheh it'd depend on the size, I'd say.
if you're worried about your choice, we have a little spot in the sign-up to explain it~
aw I wish I was still playing Joe
I'd make him into a robot and he'd be a cross between angry, disgusted, horrified, and kinda like "shit I cna shoot rockets out of my hands"
hah he'd be so confused and angry
so many people would get punched
he'd punch his way across the landscape in the hopes of finding the responsible party
then probably discover the joys of chugging high-test energon till he was drunk
/slams bartender dog in there
bartender dog has to stand on fifty boxes just to reach the bar
He'll be the cutest bartender ever
excellent. that'll double his amount of customers
but now everyone is human and won't need energon
man bartendering was a good job, but doing it as a dog seems so much more lucrative... if there was money
shhhhhh don't ruin the doggy dreams
he can learn about alcohol
free beers while he experiments
OH I HAVE A QUESTION!
for characters turning into amnimals if they bark or meow or whatever will their comm translate it automatically? and will they suddenly understand others of the same species
as we have a feline in the game already, I can answer this with a resounding 'maybe!'
Since it depends on how much cognizance your character has.
If those barks and growls are them specifically trying to say something, then yes! Translator will get it.
If its just general dog-language, it won't be able to pick it up beyond the occassional 'I'm hungry'
so kind of like the translator collars in UP?
Aw, now I wish someone were turning their character into a dopefish so they could just post "SWIM, SWIM, HUNGRY" all the time.
so kind of like the translator collars in UP?
not seen UP in a while, but I think that sounds about right~
someone becomes dory. floating in a bubble
so then. will dogs be able to understand dogs, or will they also be relying on the translator translating? since it's not actually a language they know, but they can just suddenly speak because species swap
dogs'd get the gist of what other dogs are 'saying,' yes. There is a universal language of dog~
of course, if your character isn't taking any of the natural instincts of the body they're going in, they'll have difficulty with this.
in up it's stuff like I HAVE JUST MET YOU, AND I LOVE YOU
the collars also don't always translate for them. so you get a lot of barking with no english at times
Can I still do sentient sword..?
twasbrillig: Then that sounds just about perfect! There'd be times when its translation and times when it isn't.
arturiapendragon: As far as I know, yes! I've seen them in a few animes so it definitely exists.
I have a weird question: You mention the cognizance varies. Could it change over the course of the event? Like they start out normal, but by the end are convinced they were never anything but what they are?
Spectreselva: I thiiink for the purpose of the event they'll keep about the same level of cognizance the whole time.
I don't think its a problem if it fluctuates a bit (especially as they learn the new form) but having them believe they were always one thing if they didn't before would require some
history edits that aren't part of this event.
(But, heh, will be part of one later~)
It's fine, it was just an idea that popped in my head, lol
And, obviously, if they've got about the cognizance level of a dog, they won't really be thinking too much about what they used to be.
So it does make sense from a certain perspective~
