what free software is out there to create e-books from scanned images?
PaperPort SE 11 came with the scanner and says it can do OCR
Urgh another series? sigh And even if I wanted to, it's not available at my library. So, I'm out on this one too.
Agreed this ones more my style but another series is xP
hopping to it, but got to finish Fool Moon (#2 in the Dresden Files) first
hoping for something 180 from the last book but I'll give it a tumble
I guess you folks will be bored out of your gourds if I ever get to choose a book
I love detective-type stories and weird horror stuff. Bring it on!
chennpug: You're in your element, I am out of mine. That's the point of a bookclub, no?
Yep! Soon enough the genre will switch to something I wouldn't pick up on my own, I'm sure.
I'm going to have to think about this one.... see if I can find it locally or not
think this one will hit my "eep!" point, so I won't be reading. I will follow the discussions, though! Have fun everyone!
camelama: same here but that will mean faster reading since I will be skipping most of it
chennpug: I sure hope so, 2 of the same type in a row so far
these days, my kindle is filled with porn since everyone thinks its the next big thing after 50 shades.
bought the book on my lunch hour. it was in the novel section, not the mystery section, that surprised me.
anyway, read the first chapter and a half, i like his writing style, too bad he writes about ugliness
...I just finally got the
last book from the library yesterday!
The squirrel scene gave me the heebie jeebies
i think its supposed to lise.
maybe its a background thing, but the squirrel thing doesnt bother me that much
ive never hunted, just target practice, but almost everyone here does... maybe that makes a difference?
I know it was supposed too it was successful
it arrived today
anyone have any tips for removing the binding and separating the pages of a paperback?
must finish current audio book. Then this one. I got audio version.. LOL
grumpythorn I found the first one a quick read if that makes you feel better
The second one is pretty quick also I'm halfway done
started listening. I'm thinking I'm not going to finish it... not sure if it's the reader or just not my kind of book
morandia: well it sure isn't my kind of book but I am going to finish anyway. The discipline of a book club is exactly waht I needed! I NEVER finish books this fast, especially ones I don't like!
I'm just really not enjoying it at all. I'm also a bit afraid of getting nightmares... I watch very few TV shows on this line also for that reason
morandia: That's why I didn't want to read the first one with monsters
The second one I can just skip the gross stuff and stick with the hero's part.
I'm doing audio book - can't skip easily. I have no problem with monsters but the murder mystery stuff gets me. I have a thing about dead bodies
morandia: I don't like reading about the thoughts of murderers
Hey, I friended you
I added you
Cindy. I'm not going to read this one. The reader's voice isn't helping. I think he may have read a few Stephen King books too.. LOL. I am waving the white flag on this book... sorry
I made it through about 10% and that's it
I totally understand, heck I didn't even TRY the first one
I hope you get to choose soon!
Richard Ferrone in this case
I read monster/vampire books.. LOL And classics. And textbooks. I"m probably not a good picker.. hehe
classics
that voice grates
he's good for some things but for this with the subject what it is, it's very creepy
