Summer school? I just read that I can not miss days if I want to teach :-( and our family has tickets to Oregon String Summit. :-)

I chose not to do summer school... I would rather watch my grandsons.

yes, summer school is not worth the trouble... take it from someone who has sincerely tried to make it work for both teachers and students... (oh and parents too)

I say go and have a nice respite, enjoy yourselves and be back in time for the fall semester...

Summer is when you take the time to reconnect with your family.

however, if someone needs the income gained from working over the summer I would never make light of that either. It's a matter of weighing options.

I always felt that I worked incredibly hard and that no one was really invested in the summer programs, not to mention that the pay was sucky.

The pay for us is actually decent, but I should maybe let younger teachers that need the money more than me do it. I just love singing with all 150 kids in the morning.

Maybe you could still go help out a couple of times? So you're not completely out of it but not losing anything if you can't be there every day?

I'm looking into summer school through virtual school. Don't know if I'll get in or not.
