really the most heartfelt and enjoyable story about a cat ever

which is quite amazing, because of how simply it's written

but it really captures something very magical and touching

with all the cat's sense of wonder without humanizing too much, but at the same time a very human story about the importance of narrative and purpose

mostly it is a story about a cat.

that is the best description.

it also makes me want to write a story about some of the events in my Nanos but from the perspective of the cat

AND I REALLY SHOULDN'T DO THIS BUT

it's so tempting

also, Story Kit from the same collection is brilliantly devastating

it's a very intelligent look at how writers' personal issues affect their work, and obviously took a lot of courage to write

even if it's a fictionalized account it takes honesty to admit how much of one's work reflects oneself

and sometimes, no matter what, it's not going to make your life better

but the role of the writer is never to stop regardless
