those cupcakes man those cupcakes
if all the furor hadn't kicked up i doubt most people on campus would have even known about the campaign, so i guess it worked in the end
the choice of baking surprises random lady...
wtf else do you sell on a campus that people would actually want...
go boldly yep monash we sure will
also i thought that feminism is about celebrating women's choices to you know, do what they want regardless of it is typically seen as feminine or masculine...
i actually had a really interesting discussion with my 'date' yesterday about the whole cupcake thing actually
my husband and I just laughed and laughed
they were being oppressed by their $1 cupcakes!
on the other side of the coin, the women's group sort of scares me
they had this facebook thread going on in their closed group in response to this whole thing and some of the things they said there were just unnecessary
I think that's pretty brilliant, actually. But probably too high-concept for the average sexist.
ooh shit apparently one of the girls quoted in the article didn't know that it was going to be used
Yeah, it was a good campaign and did what it set out to do! I just don't choose to really affiliate with the women's group on campus (it was something I was looking into earlier this year)
