I'm going to go to this and pick up some milkweed plants. May try to join the certified Monarch Butterfly Habitat program. Have most of the requirements already for the beehives.

Ugh, going to the college campus is a pain in the arse. :-P I do need a mother's day gift tho.. hmmm

Looks like a fun event, and there are so many beautiful milkweed flowers to choose from.

We used to have a lot of milkweed in the fields when I was growing up. Saw a lot of butterflies, but it's hard to tell the difference between Viceroys and Monarchs. Had a lot of both from what I could tell.

I remember being fascinated with the Monarch caterpillars and the chrysalis when I was a kid. It occurs to me I've seen neither for many years.

Yes, watching the caterpillars was fun too. Would love to watch one come out of its chrysalis and unfold its wings. :-)
