I'm certainly not an advocate for frivolous lawsuits, but I was surprised to read that she was only suing for $24,500... that should barely cover the medical bills.
I wonder if the "population control politics" are playing a role in the lawsuit.
If a man or woman is made irreparably sterile during any sort of incident it would be deemed a multi-million dollar lawsuit... primarily because inability to reproduce is stigmatized in the states.
Of course, "inability" is different from simply choosing not to.
What I'm wondering is, with the current control on population, would this incident be seen as the destruction of something similar to-- a foot? Or is the inability to procreate taken into account as well?
