One of the most unforgivable acts I heard yesterday about some women who flushed an infant down the toilet and was stuck in the pipes underground.. Later to be found alive because of the cries neighbors heard.

How will you explain to that child years later well your mom didn't want you and had a moment of utter stupidity and flushed you down the toilet. The same toilet where everyone crap and urine ends up

Ouch. I'll agree that adoption is always an option, but in a country like China where they enforce the one child laws, adopting someone elses child means you cannot legally have another without penalty.

Fear and ignorance makes people do amazingly desperate things. As China moves further from being an aggrarian society to an industrialized one, we may see more stories like this.
