So for my upcoming 30th birthday (next summer) I've decided to take my first solo trip abroad. So far, I have narrowed it down to China or Italy. Thoughts?

China. There's more likelihood you'll get to Italy later on.

China. It's a really different culture and landscape than you're used to. And of the two China is more important, both politically and economically.

Italy has hot men, hot coffee, hot fashion and hot pasta. And wine. Really, really good wine. Go to Italy! Also Beth...you should be pro-Italy...they have soccer!

although there is a LOT of China, and just like you'd never get all of Italy in one trip, you're only going to touch on China. I second the vote for Xi'an. If you want a resort, try Hainan.

I'd say China too. Though either would be awesome, really
