I trust no plant that can draw first blood.

The roses were planted by the previous owners and WE HATES THEM PRECIOUS

The flowers are nice but they're there for about a week and then you're stuck with the spiky ugly plant of doom

And they're all diseased and I couldn't be buggered trying to cure the Black Spot Fungus whatever.

so why not just kill the things and dig out their roots?

Extremely tempted, but it's my brother's house and he doesn't hate them like I do.

The rose plants over here seem to be ridiculously hardy.

We thought it was dead, dug out roots as best we could and it somehow came back in two years' time.

And yet they get diseased at the drop of a hat. Stupid roses...
