He was definitely my favorite before that, and I think still my favorite afterwards, if in a...drastically different way. Adelle is a close second.

Least favorite. Hm. I didn't much care for Madeline, and...oh, wait, no, Caroline! Definitely Caroline, pre-being absorbed into the hive mind of Echo or whatever.

Madeline was such a step down from Mellie imo

Right? I kinda got the feeling they didn't know what to do with her and she just sort of...went away so Mellie could have a dramatic death scene.

Like they ran out of character ideas and just shoved a bunch of plot-convenient traits onto Madeline to move things along.
