Also, for jars, if you don't want to bother with duct tape, take a rubber band (preferably a thicker one) and wrap it around the jar cap. Open the jar as you would normally by gripping the rubber band.

The rubber band provides extra friction between the cap and your finger/hand, and will multiply the force you effectively apply onto the cap, making it a lot easier to open.

No sticky tape required. (thin rubber bands don't work as well. Make sure the rubber band fits snug around the cap. I haven't tried multiple wraps, but that would probably work if you only have giant bands.)

Make boiled eggs in 電鍋, set wet/damp paper towel on bottom, place some eggs on there, turn on, and it'll pop by itself when there's no more water in the paper towel.

Ooh, that's interesting too. It's kinda weird thinking about how to make boiled eggs without having to submerge the eggs in water.
