I also looked in to selling my old laptop. It's missing a few keys and the keyboard acts kinda funny because I spilled soda on it one night, but I'd still get about $100 for it.

A little cash is a lot better then a hunk of metal and plastic I don't even use any more.

The thing is, they give you the option of getting the money via check or paypal.

I can use the check at more places, but if I have it sent to my paypal, my mother can't touch it.

can you take money out of a PayPal account to use for stuff? Not letting her at your money sounds like the better choice...

Actually, my paypal is technically linked to my checking account, so while it takes a few days, I can transfer money from one to the other if I really wanted to.

I just don't want her knowing that, for the obvious reasons.
