has heard and immediately had gone to check up on him.
hears the door but it's a faint buzz. He whistles, and Eustáquio quickly flaps his wings around the porch, bickering at the door and gnawing at a vase, where Gabriel usually hides a spare key.
quirks a brow at the action and bends down to investigate the vase. He finds the key, and already he can tell something is wrong, he unlocks the door and is making his way inside. "Gabriel?"
coughing as he's sitting down on the couch. His rooster flies over to his owner, gently headbutting his arm. "Water..." He replies, looking up but not quite making who it is, face red from fever.
nods as he immediately veers towards the kitchen and grabs him a glass of water bringing it over to him. "Here, do you think you can sit up?"
(( dammit, ignore the last part of that question. Didn't see that you had him sit up.))
grabs the glass with shaky hands, drinking it. It's instant happiness, the water running down his dry throat. "I think I should stop smoking..."
quirks a brow. "I think that's the first time I've heard you say that."
groans. "My throat... Tastes like ash." He hums, rubbing his forehead. "Those fires may be getting to me, it's strange." He leans heavily against the german, dizzy and feverish.
holds him up as best as he can. "Do you want me to get you more water? How does your skin feel?"
Nods. "Water, yes.. Everything is dry." He mumbles, reaching over to pat Eustáquio. "I don't feel like that since 1755..."
re-positions him so he's leaning back against the couch before he gets up to refill the glass. He returns and retakes his seat beside Gabriel gently passing him the cup.
takes the glass and sips it more slowly this time, bumping his shoulder with Ludwig's. "Brother... sent me help. Water tanks." He reassures him, patting the german's knee. "But.. thank you."
doesn't smile. Gabriel looked worse for wear. "I'll help you here...until you feel a little better."
nods. "Hm, thank you. A sweetheart." He shifts, closing his eyes and breathinh softly as he drink. "No idea why my people... Did it."
flushes very lightly at the compliment. "Do we ever know why are people do certain things?" He replies knowing full well how that feels.
groans. "I think it's the... Whole thing, that people just keep leaving Portugal." He coughs, covering his mouth.
gently rubs his back patting it a few times. "Ahh..." He didn't have that problem. He had people coming into Germany constantly.
shrugs. "I think they're all frustrated you know, with me and the fire it just..." he coughs, the crucifix he wears tucked under his blouse suddenly feeling heavy on his neck.
gently pats his back again. "Just?" He wonders if he should take the man to bed so he can lie down and relax.
groans. "Cold.." He mutters, closing his eyes and shivering, brushing some sweat off his cheek.
sighs as he wraps an arm around him to try and warm him up. "I'm going to take you to your room. Alright?"
nods, wrapping one arm around his shoulders. "Help me up.." Heck, Ludwig was a good deal taller than him, but very well.. He waits for the other to guide him, as he forces himself up.
doesn't need any more instructions as he easily heaved Gabriel up and begins the short trek to the man's room.
groans, letting himself be taken. He only feels something when his back gently hits the bed. "Hm, thanks... there's food in the kitchen." He hums, closing his eyes and turning to the side. "There's ice too."
looks a little worried. "Are you sure there isn't anything else I can do for you?"
sighs. "I don't think there's much... To be done. For the fever." He hums, smiling dully. "But if you.. Wanna stay..."
does know one thing for the fever. "Let me get a cold wt cloth for your fever and I'll stay." He says as he heads to the bathroom to arrange everything before coming back and laying it over his head.
shivers at the cold before nodding and smiling. "Thanks..." He adds, reaching for the other just to make sure he's not alone.
takes a seat on the bed and guides Gabriel's hand towards him. "Sleep...It'll do you good."
keeps holding his hand like a lost child as he nods, still shivering at the cold tissue. "Hmm... yeah. Thanks." he smiles, eyes closed.
pulls the blanket up from under them and covers Gabriel. He grabs the cloth and places it on the nightstand for now.
eventually falls asleep, curling into a ball, hand still loosely reaching for the other.
feels bad for the man and gently grasps his hand as he leans back against the headboard and watches over him before accidentally falling asleep.
snores lightly, smiling as he mumbles his brother's name in his sleep, resting his head on the pillow.
hadn't fallen asleep too long and blinks himself awake. He frowns trying to make sense of his surroundings before remembering exactly where he is. He checks on Gabriel before easing back against the
headboard. The man seemed fine.
relaxed by now almost completely, simply sleeping as his face looks decidedly better.
pulls his hand free thinking that maybe it's better off that way. He slowly eases himself off the bed and decides to go keep himself occupied downstairs as he sleeps.
sleeps for a good one hour or so, before he lazily wakes up, sitting down and stretching. He yawns, looking around — had Antonio slept around? And goes downstairs. "Tonim?"
had made some food for Gabriel. He was in the kitchen glancing through a newspaper.
jumps a bit in surprise, then smiles. "Ah... Did I sleep for too long?" He walks in the kitchen, looking down at the food and sitting down to eat.
folds the paper and places it on the table. "No, not too long. I hope you don't mind that I used your kitchen." He had actually left it spotless in top of that.
blinks and looks around. "Did you? Well, don't worry, feel free to use as much as you wish." He sips the coffee with milk, eating with it the bread with butter. "I'm better now... Those fires have been awful."
had heard. "Good, better is always good. Ja, there was an article in die Spiegle."
hums. "That so? Well, figures... News do travel fast these days." He smiles a bit. "Have you eaten already? There's some cake in the oven... Leftover."
quirks a brow at the mention of cake. "What kind of cake?"
smiles. "It's chocolate... Close enough to Black Forest." He stands up, leaving the bread on his plate as he goes to fetch it.
