haven't been keeping up with fearless defenders because i think it got boring fast

and i wish captain marvel was better but it's acceptably mediocre

young avengers needs to fix its pacing issues in a big way

fearless defenders is kind of dumb and has bad art but i still find it charming in a way

i think the one i'm the most mad at is honestly wood's x-men

because it has the most potential

and is just wasting it

this week it was one long joke about misandry as a concept

yeah and i felt that was kind of a

waste of an issue?

and a total misuse of the dudes, just making them jackasses for the sake of having jackasses for the issue

i agree about young avengers' pacing though, it's been a problem from the start

and it felt like wood just suddenly remembered

"oh shit this team is supposed to have personality and conflicts"

and rachel and storm's beef, plus rachel possibly fucking sublime

appears to be the entire personality and character dynamics of the team

jubilee might as well be in another book for all she gets to interact with kitty, rogue, psylocke, rachel, and ororo

and now it just got extra stupid for the sake of the crossover

also, kitty and rogue's involvement is

minimal too

like i am DYING for more conflict between kitty and storm on how the direction of the x-men should go from here, that felt natural

ororo's older and has more experience but kitty runs the school now

there should be something about that

psylocke feels totally dry, devoid of personality, really

like she's there for her powers

instead of anything else

i think kitty might've stepped down to focus on the o5

and i am so completely certain that rogue is gonna get killed in uncanny avengers and replaced by someone else (in both books)

psylocke gets all her character in uxf

the MOST interesting thing that has been happening in wood's book

bling!'s sub-plot

never thought i'd say that

but there's actually mystery and conflict there and i wanna know more about it

not this vaguely assembled team who barely talk to each other

i was also kind of hoping that julian being in the book and karima being back on the table would mean some kind of

actual dealing with that shit

wood has his eyes on, if i remember right

some subplot involving bling!, jubilee, and cipher (not cypher)

i have no fucking idea how jubes is supposed to tie into this, other than "she's the young one!"

man i legit didn't even realize cipher existed until i saw her in a group shot

i do know that that baby has been more important to the story than her though and that is fucking frustrating

the x-books in general feel like so much mediocrity

i've been enjoying legacy at least
