Anyone who's created system layer clothing with a pattern (like leopard or something): What's the best layer style to use to keep the pattern from overpowering the rest of the shading?

Every layer style I try seems to be not right, so I may reduce opacity and try a combo of two different layer styles? Idk

Ugh I didn't mean layer style.
I meant like multiply, overlay, etc.

I'm testing out how putting the pattern below the shading and doing the shading with screen/multiply works... idk what I think of it.

I'm not sure how some people have like ultimate magical powers that make patterns look as good as solids.

: I'm using your idea and using a levels layer. The screen/multiply gives a nice silk fabric type look, BUT not what I'm going for.
