A friend of mine also wants to cosplay him and while I know there would be no drama, I don't want to step on her toes because I loves her.

If you two are friends, then I don't think there'll be any toe-stepping if you want to cosplay the same character.

(You could just cosplay him in one con then she goes the next.)
