now my boss just showed up at my door and was like "did we not tell [supervisor] about we basically stole some company's website bc he sounds really surprised about it"

and i'm like "do you remember we had this meeting where i mentioned it and you were like no let's not tell the new guy about our extremely unethical practices"

and he's like "........ok so you're saying it's my fault"

and also he isn't the one who made the decision to steal a website so i can't blame him

BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS we are finally redoing that whole thing so hey maybe we won't get sued

LMFAO it's a long terrible story but mostly it has to do with us working for a company which knows nothing about how websites work

and so the company itself basically got their overseas team to completely copy a competitor's website and then hired some web designers (me, namely) to "work" on it

so my team was stuck with this website which we hated and did not want to take ownership for but the higher ups refused to give us time to actually make a real website

and now like six months later when THAT project totally crashed and bombed, they're finally letting us make a real website skjdfh so it's exciting 8D

I MAKE GREAT SITES but no actually i got pulled off the website project like months ago to do programming for digital signage

so oddly enough the people who did the digital signage were reassigned to the website project, and i am now head of our digital signage dept

which is an astoundingly stressful move, and why i've been so awol for the past month
