I split the photos in color categories, made a pattern for each color, and built the mosaic from the back forward with layer masks.

Its not the way I did it last time, but then I has more images and months to work. They gave me the project in Feb & the images last week.

Still impressive. Even professional. . (Sorry, couldn't resist after today's FB post).

And want delivery next week. Because they took their sweet time & now need it rushed, they get visible patterns. I heart my clients.

Oh and I need to overlay the image of Walt because they wanted larger pictures so you could see their contents better. That limits detail.

Doug, this is far from "professional". Its rather hack if I do say so myself, but I work with what limitations they gave me.
